Legends of Belariath

Odd

Another Day's Work

Two Cloaked figures meet under the new moon. An agreement is made, "We shall meet again under the next moon. Do not come empty handed and I shall do the same." One says to the other before they turn to part ways. Under the next new moon, in the same clearing, the two figures stand again this time only one hood is up and he holds out a fairly large package to the Drak Sen before himself "My Pay?" the figure asks and the Drak gives him a small plump pouch filled "that will be more than enough to cover the cost of your work" responds the drak before turning to walk away with his package in hand with a few last words "May the elders watch over you, thief." A smirk can almost be felt as the thief responds "Save your blessing for the faithful, I have no need for eyes watching over me" and with that said the thief walks away into the night. Once far enough from the clearing, a dark colored bird flies out from the trees and lands on the thief’s shoulder “Shiwa, good girl.” He says “any sign of them? No? Good, let’s move quickly” and with that the two rush off into the night.

Twenty three days earlier, the thief walked down a path in the wilderness, with his pet flying just ahead. Then, Shiwa let out a whistling chirp and flies back to the thief. “Good girl, Shiwa. Now hide out till nightfall and I will bring you food as soon as I can” the thief told Shiwa before sending the bird off to hide. “Now to make myself a little more appealing for my next performance” the thief said before dropping his hood to reveal himself to be a silver haired elven male with boyish features and enchanting blue eyes. He murmured a few words in elven before lifting a finger to touch his cheek softly and with that his body began to change shifting from his boyish features to something more feminine, his body growing curves and shorter in form. Once the spell had finished there stood a female elf with that silver hair now long and flowing and her lips a thin crimson. She looked toward the trees ahead and smiles coyly “I wonder how long it’s been since these boys have seen a real woman” she asked herself before quickly changing her clothing and moving onward into the forest. A few hours later, the elven woman walked toward a wooden cabin of good size. She made her way to the door of the cabin and knocks softly upon it. A few moments later a large burly looking human male answered the door “Greetings little elf, what are you doing in these woods alone?” the man asked. “I am searching for someone, and I’ve come across some misfortunes. Might you be able to help me?” the elf asked with a pouting lips as she bends just a little back to show her feminine charms. “Well, no man worth his weight in salt could say no to a pretty face like yours” the man responded though his attentions were not anywhere near her face now. “come in, come in. and tell me of your problems” he offered as he steps aside of the door to welcome her in. “Thank you, sir” She said softly before walking into the cabin with an almost dark smile forming on those deadly crimson lips.

Three days from that night where the hunter welcomed that vile monster hidden behind the guise of an innocent elven girl. She was helping them clean the lodge and charming the men with her innocent act. She quickly managed to gain the attention of what would be described as the leader of this group of hunters. He was a large human male even burlier and robust then the mass of the men. This human could easily be mistaken for a tall dwarf or a short ogre. The mere sight of this male made Silva inwardly nauseous for she knew he would be the one she needed to charm to complete the task at hand.

Now in the main room of the hunters’ lodge Silva sits alone with the head of the group, Bart he introduces himself as. The man looks over her with eye filled with intent. She smiles softly to Bart as she looks up from her seat to the man “so I see you have lots of trophies here? Do you have more than the ones on the walls?” She asks desperate to avoid his intent while still keeping to her job. Bart smirks “yes actually I have one right here I haven’t put to a plaque yet. Why don’t you come sit here and I’ll show you it” he says while patting his lap for the elven girl. She feigns a smile to the male before moving up toward him trying to hide her wrinkled nose as she takes a seat on the man’s lap. “So what is it?” she asks before looking up to him with those innocent aqua eyes and a gentle smile. The man grinned his grotesque toothy grin while opening up a small drawer to show her a key to the cabinet above it “it’s a dragon’s claw. We found it while hunting one morning near that temple for those freakish dragon people” he tells Silva while opening the cabinet up to let her see the large talon with her own eyes “I was going to sell it but it is just so… well pretty like you.” He finishes his words while his hand drifts down her backside tracing over her pert rear. She looked at the talon with a smile “thank you sir Bart. I think you should keep this here as a good luck charm for you and your men.” She says while reluctantly rubbing her rear back against his palm.

More time passes over a week gone by now and the men have all “taking a liking” to the elven girl. She takes a little stroll down the path from the cabin to get some fresh air and she happens on a small bush of berries before leaning down to take hold of them one of the hunters calls out to her ”oh Silva, don’t eat those they will leave you sick as a goblin.” She nods softly to the hunter and stands up straight again and looking to him with a gentle smile “thank you kind sir. I will remember not to sample berries from this area without you.” Then she waits quietly for the male to walk off before collecting a small pouch full of the berries for her plans.

Later that night back in the cabin, Silva prepares a nice thick stew for the hungry men setting out ten bowls for the men and a glass of water for herself ”come and get it boys!” she calls out before sitting down at the end of the table with a wicked smirk hidden behind her glass. “I do hope you all enjoy this, I added a bit of my own herbs to the meal.” She tells the men before taking a drink from her glass with an innocent giggle. The men need no invitation to eat as the food is nearly inhaled by each of the burly hunters. The night goes on and the men drink and dance and fondle with Silva until they begin to feel woozy. The men one by one begin to fall over in pain while Silva looks around feigning amazement till she notices Bart reaching for his sword and cursing at her “you wench you did this didn’t you!” and with that the guise of innocence left the building and Silva simply smirked at the weakened man “a week of dealing with you disgusting humans and your filthy ways. I couldn’t stand another night of letting you and your men have their way with me.” She calls out while walking to the cabinet ignoring Bart’s curses “and now to collect what I came for.” She says with a smirk before opening the cabinet and taking the talon from it while Bart weakly moves toward her his sword becoming a crutch allowing the man to keep his feet a little while longer “You will pay for this wench.” He curses her weakly before finally falling to the ground with the rest of the men. Silva just looks down at him with a smile as she collects her backpack and supplies “oh dear me, should I be worried?” she mocks the man before calling out into the night “Shiwa! Come!” and then runs off as fast as her feet can carry her.

A few days after the exchange, Odd, dressed as himself again, walks into a small town to see posters set up describing an elven woman named Silva with a blue songbird named Shiwa and explaining that she is wanted by a local group of hunters, a reward is offered for her alive. “Well at least it’s not dead.” He jokes to himself before noticing a group of the local farmers pointing to the bird on his shoulder and the similarities between himself and the female described. He looks to the group with a smile and a wave before heading into the tavern to sit and rest for a moment. He knew his visit in this town would have to be short. “Barkeep a glass of wine please?” he calls out to the man behind the counter before noticing that every person in this bar was human and all of them were staring at the elven man. ‘Ohhh… give me a break’ he thought to himself before quietly setting a few coins on the counter as he waited for his wine. The barkeep brought over a glass filled with something that could be described as wine if he were a hillbilly farmer, but Odd smiled and took the glass with a nod. He went to take his first sip from the glass as his day went from bad to worse… “Look over there, it’s the bird!” shouted one of the hunter’s voices “Catch that elf!” Shouted another of the hunters. So with that said Odd took the glass of wine splashing it back into the eyes of his pursuers before jumping off the stool and dashing for the door of the bar “Hang on Shiwa!” he tells his pet before grabbing the first horse from the posts outside the tavern and riding off as fast as he can quickly losing sight of the town and the tavern. Now with the men onto his true identity things would definitely be difficult for the elven man. And who knew how far they would pursue Odd for revenge?
