Part 9: Burgo
A talking with Burgo the halfling
sarai{Ehl} “so...who are you Sir?”
Burgo “I am Burgo. Burgo Rashbuttom, miss. And may I know your name, please?"
sarai{Ehl} “oh I’m sarai, slave of Ehlanna, Rashbottom is an odd name Sir”
Burgo smiled. "Nice to meet you. And I did not choose it... among halflings, as I am, its a quite common name, miss Sarai."
sarai{Ehl} “oh...well...erm...is it true all halflings are thieves?"
Burgo chuckled, then leaned closer. "If I told you so, I have to take measures." Giving me a very obvious wink. "No, thats a mere myth. There are teachers, cooks, doctors, hunters.... And much more professions."
sarai{Ehl} “oh...so what do you do Mr.Rashbottom?”
Burgo "I am a bartender in the Baths here in this town."
sarai{Ehl} “bartender?...In the baths?”
Burgo "Yes... Miss India hired me. She wants people to have some way to relax and enjoy the bathing."
sarai{Ehl} “isn’t that dangerous? People getting drunk while bathing? what if they drown?”
Burgo smiled. "Well, I can swim... but I never saw a drunk one in the baths. It’s usually not too busy in there."
sarai{Ehl} “so other than sell drinks in the baths which still sounds dangerous what else do you do?”
Burgo "Well, enjoy a drink here, talk to friend and have fun with my pet."
sarai{Ehl} “oh you have a kitty or a puppy?”
Burgo "I have a human."
sarai{Ehl} “him or her?”
Burgo "A female... named Rela."
sarai{Ehl} “is she nice?”
Burgo smiled. "Yup. She's nice, but can be fierce too. And got me in problems as well."
sarai{Ehl} “oh?”
Burgo sighed. "Yup."
sarai{Ehl} “erm..ok...so why come to this town?”
Burgo "Well, I was on the run from an evil man."
sarai{Ehl} “Oh do tell”
Burgo "He attacked my home town, and killed many, and enslaved the rest. I freed the slaves but he found me and I had to run."
sarai{Ehl} “that’s it…?”
Burgo nodded. "Well, no heroic battle, a mere run away... Much people died afterwards of the escape."
sarai{Ehl} “erm..ok...”
Burgo nodded. "Sorry hun."
sarai{Ehl} “well...got anything to add Sir?”
Burgo nodded. "Well, I could add much indeed. In what subject should I speak further?"
sarai{Ehl} “I dont know Sir”
Burgo smiled. "Well...." He thinks a bit... "Lets keep it for now then." He nodded to me.
sarai{Ehl} “yes Sir”
