The Four Clans of the Fae

Faeries are divided into four distinct clans, The Fae of Earth, the Fae of Water, The Fae of Fire and and Fae of Air. What makes the structure of their 'society' so much different than that of any earthy equivalent is the lack of violent rivalry between them. There has never been and likely will never be a Faerie war. While their kind in no ways lacks the magical prowess to wage such a war, their common belief in their goddess, kind natures and general easy going attitudes simply inhibits the clans from ever truly fighting. Not to say there isn't ever strife, but more often than not such strife is dealt with in the ways of innocent children. Pranks and competitions, pleasing their chaotic goddess.

The Fae of Fire are known as the Bisque. Of all the Fae they are the most temperamental. Much like their element they are hard to control, capable of blazing into powerful emotion at a moments notice. They also have the potential to be the most loving of the Fae. While it is hard to call any Fae, inhibited, they are the most uninhibited of them all. An interesting fact about the Bisque is that they are entirely immune to fire, when in the earthly plane often found living in the chimney or even the hearth itself of fireplaces. Flame and smoke do not bother them. They are olive skinned, their hair and eyes shades of either white or red. To keep a Bisque away from warmth or fire for long will cause them to become testy and often enough fluctuating between anger and sadness. That and a lot of shivering.

The Fae of Earth are known as the Mauna. The Mauna are the hardest Fae to encounter, often hiding in rabbit dens or any sort of small enclosed space underground. Their nails are diamond hard to aid them in digging into the earth and expanding their subterranean dwellings, though the don't seem capable of using them as an offensive weapon. They are the most creative of the Fae, the most likely to be seen building structures and sculpting various objects. They are the least emotional and spontaneous as well, though given the nature of the Fae as a whole that fact would likely be missed by most. Their eyes, hair and skin are earthy in color, ranging from browns to blacks. To keep a Mauna exposed and away from the comforting darkness of their underground homes for long will make them nervous and moody.

The Fae of Water are known as the Corlet. The Corlet are the most easy going of the Fae, whimsical and happy almost as if they were always lying on their back in the water staring up at the sky. A unique feature they have amongst the Fae is slight webbing between their fingers and toes to make them swim faster. It is also impossible to drown a Corlet as they can breathe underwater. They are the most diverse of the Fae when it comes to their physical appearance. Their skin color is pale, shimmering slightly in the light, their eyes can be any shade under the sun and their hair is generally shades of blonde, blue and greens. The Corlet make their home in and around bodies of water and to be separated from it for long periods of time will make them sullen.

The Fae of Air are known as the Flinae. To find one of them with their feet on the ground is a rarity. They are constantly zipping about and are the fastest of the Fae. They are generally inquisitive and hyper, almost always found around festivals or other places of excitement. They are also the most skittish of the Fae. Their skin usually has a yellowish hue that shimmers in the light, their eyes varying widely in terms of color and their hair ranging in hues of white and lavender. This clan of the Fae make there homes in windy flowered meadows or the tops of lofty trees. To keep a Flinae from flying will make them withdrawn, their usually hyper attitude fading away.

Magic’s: Each Fae is pre-disposed towards their Element, Earth, Air, Fire, and water, and the Spheres surrounding it. As such, the only spheres a Fae may use outside of Common is the one related to their element, as well as their class, and even then only after they have had the appropriate training, please note this includes the common elemental spells such as ice shards. Other spheres, other then ones noted, may open up depending upon class and advanced class taken. (This does not give them automatic access to any of the advanced spheres however)
