Pose Off Week 7 - A Sad Farewell

Postby Ubique on Tue Nov 30, 2010 2:09 am

after talking with Stormbringer, we agreed that a topic such as "A Sad Farewell" would offer some artists a chance to help others deal with a recent loss the community experienced. please use this topic in a general sense if that suits you best. we are looking for pictures with dignity, taste and perhaps quiet contemplation, rather than any sense of competition. i think it's safe to say that ALL artists are welcomed to join in this challenge - 2D artwork, poetry and short stories or prose would be welcome.

Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven,
Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Evangeline

“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through
and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”
-Eskimo Proverb

This may not seem to be the saddest picture here, but in truth, Marc was the biggest spit-fire I have ever met.. Always scrapping for his little bit of space in the world.. He was truly an inspiration, never asked for special treatment.. So, here it is.. A final 'fuck you' to those that wouldn't accept him for who he was.. Because he was a damned good guy, who deserved respect for being who he was, no matter what the reaction was.

RIP my friend, you will be missed.

A video written and sung by a friend of mine.... A song that will remind me from now and forever of Marc.. Someone who has always helped me through a hard spot.

in honor of my friend that we all lost I thought I would try my hand at this... I admit I didn't draw the background i only tweaked it a bit nd no I didnt write the poem but it is one I have found was a help to me in other losses and thought it fitting of the man I knew behind the player we all loved.
