I need a job to help me earn more Mehrials. Unfortunately, I didn't seem to get any skills upon character creation, so I am completely unskilled.

YOu actually have 5 Skill Slots at Level 1, and then gain 1 per level after that....all you have to do is go through the lists and choose your first 5, and note them under Skills when editing your sheet
