News would come from the southern Gem, Dethsiris, of a wild Portal spawning a score of Mephos that breath smoke and fire and steam, and giant bats, doing battle in the air over the ruined city of Dethsiris.

More rumors abound that something was captured...alive! And transported back to the city's Keep for study and experimentation and research.
