Legends of Belariath

Ogre Religion

Ogres worship many gods. These are the major ones:

T'flocnic - God of battle. Not a war god, but a god of combat. The highest in the ogre hierarchy.

M'aineg - Goddess of death. Sometimes called Battle's slut, many ogres have devoted their lives to her, exchanging their souls for the power that comes with being M'aineg'tah, the living embodiment of death.

J'kisteloer - God of Chaos. He represents many things to the ogres, being a god of mischief. Also considered the god of practical jokes. Of course, Ogre humor usually involves violence and mayhem.

K'sleftuc - Goddess of lust. Another difference of the ogre faith, ogres don't have a love god. In fact, if asked about love, most ogres will look at you blankly. However K'sleftuc is also associated with mating, and many ogre females offer up a sacrifice to the goddess before seeking a mate.

There are also minor gods and goddesses, which differ from ogre clan to ogre clan. However the ogres only have two demons or dark gods. They are rarely spoken of, and speaking there name in front of a devout ogre is an invitation to a bloodbath. And yet, it is rumored that there are secret clans of ogres who worship these dark gods.

G'eedkwonl - Goddess of knowledge.

C'lantsauas - God of generosity.

Ogre worship is not something that has been observed closely. Many a human or elfen village has been attacked and destroyed by a clan of ogres, as a sacrifice to T'flocnic and J'kisteloer, and it's best not to think about the sacrifices that have been offered to K'sleftuc.
